Pray for our Police

To the troops in law enforcement under my care of prayer and concern:

My heart is heavy and pierced every time I hear another brother in law enforcement fall. You are constantly on my mind and in my prayers as you continue to carry out your duties.


As I consult the bible for knowledge and comfort, I found the following:

In Ephesians, the apostle Paul is praying for the Ephesian people as I now do as I think about you.

3:14 For this reason I kneel before the Father, 15 from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. 16 I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18 may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

God loves you!  SO DO WE. When I say we, it includes the general public. Even thought it may not feel like the general public likes you and I possess no firm statistics on the matter, the majority are on your side. I would guess that just like in retail and finance that 2-3% of the customers cause 97% of the problems. So 97% of us love and appreciate you.

Thank you for your answering the call into law enforcement and your commitment to keep the rest of us safe. I don't ever mean to take away from the danger our troops in the military experience. But I try to explain to others that you are the suburban military that is in danger everyday right here at home. 

We all know evil exists and you are the thin blue line between Good and Evil.

Thank you and I hope you know you can call on me anytime for support on the front line with crime or in the rear for your own spiritual and mental support.

To the other readers of this blog,  the best thing you can do is pray for your local first responders. People step up during these times and ask what they can do. If you want to get physically involved, check into the next Citizens Police Academy and join many others that volunteer at their local police departments. If you have a chance to buy their meal or just say a kind word in public or write a letter of appreciation, they would enjoy that.

None of us in the corporate world will have to make the spit life and death decisions required of our police. The need support, not the hate that is being promoted by some misguided groups.
