The Pope & Jesus

Recently the Pope came to America and then to the White House for the first time. There were people lined up by the thousands everywhere he went, hoping to get a glance or maybe be touched/blessed by him. What is there in your past that you would have asked the Pope to forgive you ?  What if you never meet the Pope?  What if you knew Jesus instead?

Could you list all the sins of your past? And what about the sins you will commit in the future?
Are you concerned others would condemn you for your sins? WELL, we are all guilty.

Romans 3:23     for ALL have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,  No one is exempt.

But anyone is covered by grace, like this lady in  John 8         New International Version (NIV)

8:1 but Jesus went to the Mount of Olives.
2 At dawn he appeared again in the temple courts, where all the people gathered around him, and he sat down to teach them. 3 The teachers of the law and the Pharisees brought in a woman caught in adultery. They made her stand before the group 4 and said to Jesus, “Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery. 5 In the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women. Now what do you say?” 6 They were using this question as a trap, in order to have a basis for accusing him.

But Jesus bent down and started to write on the ground with his finger. 7 When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, “Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.” 8 Again he stooped down and wrote on the ground.

9 At this, those who heard began to go away one at a time, the older ones first, until only Jesus was left, with the woman still standing there. 10 Jesus straightened up and asked her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?”

11 “No one, sir,” she said.
“Then neither do I condemn you,” Jesus declared. “Go now and leave your life of sin.”

You see, you don’t need the Pope to forgive you or to be your route to God. Jesus came, lived and died to be your route to God. He is the one you ask for forgiveness. It is between you, Jesus and his father God. No one else can save us from ourselves and the burdens of sins we carry.

Gods grace is sufficient and covers all our sins. You must ask Jesus to be part of your life and follow him and you will be saved and covered by grace.

Romans 10:9
9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.

Be bold, believe and be justified.

Have a blessed day and tomorrow.
